Ways-of-working and facilitation studio

Make work
work better.

The way your team works shouldn’t be left to chance.

How you work together. How you meet. Who you are. Where you’re going.

We help teams make the important stuff explicit, and design better ways of working together.

Point of view

Most teams have ways of working.

They just never chose them.

Somewhere along the way, habits became rules.

The weekly meeting stayed. The most senior person became the default decision-maker. Communication norms evolved by interpretation. Strategy stayed in the deck.

Soon, “how we work” becomes something the team inherits rather than designs.

We help make it more deliberate, so there’s less ambiguity, less friction, and more room for work to move.

The cost

And those defaults aren’t free.

  • A meeting that doesn’t produce an outcome often creates another meeting.
  • A decision nobody knows how to make gets discussed, escalated, delayed, and discussed again, often creating even more meetings.
  • Information that isn’t visible gets searched for, recreated, or trapped with the people who happened to be in the room.
  • Unclear authority and decision rights make capable people wait for permission.
  • Unspoken expectations turn everyday collaboration into interpretation, frustration and politics.

77%

of knowledge workers are frequently in meetings that end in a decision to schedule a follow-up meeting.
Atlassian, Workplace Woes: Meetings, 2024

One instance of any of these feels small.

But they accumulate.

  • Meeting debt
  • Decision debt
  • Information debt
  • Coordination debt

Eventually, your best people spend more energy navigating the organization than moving the work forward.

And you can probably already feel it

  • Too many meetings.
  • Slow decisions.
  • Repeated conversations.
  • Constant escalation.
  • Work getting stuck between teams.
  • People waiting instead of acting.
  • Leaders becoming bottlenecks.

This isn’t necessarily a people problem.

It’s organizational drag.

We help youMake the implicit explicit.

What becomes possible

What happens when the way you work gets clearer?

  • Decisions move without everything climbing the hierarchy.
  • Meetings produce outcomes instead of more meetings.
  • People know where they can act without waiting for permission.
  • Information travels without everyone needing to be in the room.
  • Teams spend less time navigating each other and more time doing the work.
  • And when something stops working, you have the language and practices to change it.

Work moves. People move with more confidence. The organization becomes easier to operate.

What we do

What we help you work through.

From team agreements and meetings to strategy, decisions and alignment.

01

Team Agreements

How are we going to work together?

When expectations live in people’s heads, everyone works from a slightly different operating manual.

Where should I communicate this? How quickly am I expected to respond? Can I make this call? Who needs to be involved? What happens when we disagree?

The cost isn’t a missing document. It’s the constant interpretation.

Make those expectations explicit and people spend less energy figuring out how to work together, and more energy actually working together.

We help teams design practical agreements for communication, decisions, collaboration, autonomy and meetings.

02

Better Meetings

Do we really need this meeting?

A bad meeting rarely costs you just an hour.

The decision doesn’t get made, so another meeting gets scheduled. People leave without clarity, so conversations continue elsewhere. Recurring meetings stay on calendars long after their original purpose disappears.

Bad meetings create more meetings.

And eventually calendars become so full of coordinating the work that there’s barely any time left to do it.

We help you identify meeting debt, kill what no longer earns its place, and redesign the meetings and operational rhythms that keep work moving. We also equip people to facilitate the conversations that matter.

The goal isn’t fewer meetings for the sake of fewer meetings. It’s the right rhythm, with more movement and less meeting.

03

Team Identity

Who are we as a team?

When teams form, grow, merge or change leadership, we often jump straight into the work.

But people may be carrying completely different assumptions about who this team is, what it’s here to do and what they need from one another. That ambiguity shows up later as friction, disconnection and siloed behavior.

Shared identity gives people something to organize around.

We facilitate teams to make visible who they are, what they bring, what matters to them and how they want to show up together.

04

Strategy

Where are we actually going?

A strategy can be perfectly clear to the people who created it and surprisingly fuzzy to everyone expected to execute it.

When strategy arrives as a ta-da, people fill in the gaps themselves. Priorities get interpreted differently. Teams optimize locally. Decisions get escalated because the trade-offs aren’t clear.

Alignment isn’t everyone having seen the strategy. It’s people being able to use it.

We design and facilitate strategy work that surfaces assumptions, makes choices explicit and gives the people responsible for execution enough shared context to act.

The accelerant

And then we gave everyone AI.

AI can make work faster.

But if decision rights are unclear, information is siloed, or teams aren’t aligned, it can make the friction faster too.

AI amplifies the system it enters.

Give every employee their own AI instance and you can create another layer of individual context, one the rest of the organization can’t see.

So the question isn’t only

How do we get people using AI?

It’s also

What kind of organization are we asking AI to accelerate?

The clearer the ways of working, the more useful the acceleration.

Don’t automate the drag.

LEGO® Serious Play®

Think with your hands.

Three moments from a LEGO Serious Play session: two people leaning over a shared model built across a table, and a facilitator listening as a participant explains what they built.

Some of the hardest things to work through are the things teams can’t quite put into words: assumptions, relationships, dependencies, competing interpretations, and different views of the same problem.

LEGO® Serious Play® makes that thinking visible.

Everyone builds. Everyone contributes. Ideas become tangible, differences can sit on the same table, and the team can question, connect and build on them together.

Yes, LEGO. No, not for building castles.

We use it to explore team agreements, identity, strategy, ways of working, go-to-market thinking and complex organizational challenges.

Sometimes it shapes the whole engagement. Sometimes it’s one method among many.

The method follows the problem, not the other way around.

Teams WOW Assessment

You can feel the friction. But where is it coming from?

The WOW Assessment

  • Meet
  • Decide
  • Share
  • Agree
  • Align
  • Too many meetings may actually be a decision problem.
  • Slow decisions may actually be an authority problem.
  • Constant questions may actually be an information problem.
  • Team friction may be an agreement problem.

Find out where work may be getting stuck.

Take 3–5 minutes to look at five parts of everyday work. See what’s working, where friction may be hiding and where we’d start.

Custom challenge

Bring us the thing that’s stuck.

Maybe you’re bringing together a new leadership team. Maybe you’ve gone from twelve people to fifty and nobody has looked at how new people learn to work here. Maybe two teams need to become one. Maybe your GTM team needs alignment. Maybe the strategy isn’t landing. Maybe you don’t have a name for the problem yet.

“We need to get the right people in a room and work this out.”

That’s our kind of problem.

Process

How we work.

  1. Understand

What’s actually happening? What’s changed? Where is the friction? What conversation isn’t happening? We start there.

  2. Design

We design the engagement around the problem, the people, and the outcome you need. We don’t pull a workshop off the shelf.

  3. Facilitate

We create the conditions for people to think, challenge, build, decide, and create together. The method follows the work.

  4. Make it usable

The workshop isn’t the outcome. We turn what happened in the room into something the team can use.

  5. Come back

What stuck? What didn’t? What needs to change? Better ways of working evolve with the organization.

Partnership

Better answers are built together.

Two hands reaching toward each other, each holding a brick, about to connect them.

We’re not coming into your organization pretending we know it better than you do. But we’re also not just handing out Post-its and asking, “So, what does everyone think?”

We bring structure, questions, challenge, patterns we’ve seen before, ways-of-working expertise, facilitation, and tools designed to get beyond the obvious answers.

Your people bring the context, experience, and knowledge.

Neither of us could get there alone.

Where this goes

Work doesn’t need to feel this hard.

The goal isn’t more process.

It’s less friction. More clarity. More movement.

Make work work better.
